On Friday, ABC aired Episode 22 of Shark Tank Season 13. The show included a pitch from Ooakshell, a headband startup. Mika Bertholdo of Dallas, Texas, is the company’s founder.

What was Mika Bertholdo’s presentation about?

Mika Bertholdo came on the ABC show to show off her adjustable and versatile headband, which she hand-dyes herself. The entrepreneur came in looking for $150,000 for a 15 per cent stake, intending to acquire some marketing aid and develop her firm from home to an office. Mika Bertholdo’s presentation impressed the sharks, and guest shark Emma Grede was the first to step in and propose a deal. The billionaire entrepreneur offered $150,000 in exchange for 20% of Mika Bertholdo’s company. Initially, the founder was observed attempting to counter-offer by lowering the share ratio to 13, but Emma Grede refused.

Mika Bertholdo signed a contract with SKIMS’s co-founder

She eventually received a deal with SKIMS’s co-founder. Mika Bertholdo sells Ooakshell headbands for $35 per piece, at a cost of manufacture of only $1.64. The large profit margin not only made the sharks gasp, but it also impressed the audience. Mika Bertholdo’s firm appeared to be doing well for a one-man army, as she reported that the company has an 81 per cent return rate. She also mentioned that her spouse assists her in packaging the items but isn’t very good at it. She referred to him as her company’s “excellent unpaid intern.”

Meanwhile, many fans couldn’t stop raving about the profit margin. Here are a few of their responses:

Mika Bertholdo was highly excited when introducing her firm, Ooakshell, on Shark Tank Season 13 Episode 22. “Have you ever been wearing one of those one-size-fits-all headbands that squeeze the bejesus out of your skull and then gives you a throbbing headache?” she said in her pitch. Look no farther, Sharks, for I’ve got your back.”

She continued, saying: “A one-size-fits-all, completely adjustable, handcrafted headband that can be styled in an infinite number of ways.” Ooakshell’s patent design lets you change the tightness to your comfort level by utilising our distinctive rings.” Mika Bertholdo was then shown instructing the sharks on how to wear the headbands and alter them to the customer’s liking. She went on to say that she hand-dyes the items herself.
