Starz has announced a Power Book II: Ghost Season 4, a spinoff of the popular crime drama series Power that ran from 2014 to 2020. In book II of the Power spinoff series, Tariq St. Patrick is portrayed as the son of James ‘Ghost’ St. Patrick from Power. The theme of the Ghost sequel spin-off series is Tariq’s quest to escape New York’s criminal underground for good. As the St. Patrick’s have greater than their fair number of rivals, Tariq’s endeavours to go legit always have repercussions & he eventually discovers that his lineage is far deeper than he anticipated.

Power Book II: Ghost’s most recent season was more violent than ever, with rival gangs and the New York Police Department closing in on Tariq’s family. As a result of Monet’s hit on Lorenzo, rifts also arose in the Tajeda clan, and the betrayal exposed not only her but her entire family to danger. Ghost season 4 will undoubtedly be one of the finest and most dramatic episodes ever for the Power spinoff.

Power Book II: Ghost Season 4 Latest News

There hasn’t been any significant news on Power Book II: Ghost all throughout 2023. The most recent big update came in May when Starz renewed the drama, but the WGA & SAG-AFTRA strikes commenced soon after. While filming on Power Book II: Ghost Season 4 had already begun and might have even been completed or nearing completion at the time, employees of the WGA & SAG-AFTRA have been reluctant to market their work until disagreements with the AMPTP are resolved. As a result, information on Power Book II: Ghost Season 4 has been scarce, as has word on most other shows and films now in production. The WGA strikes ended in September 2023, although the SAG-AFTRA strikes continue.

Power Book II: Ghost Season 4 Renewal Status

Ghost season 4 is on the horizon, as Starz has renewed Power Book II for a fourth season in January 2023 (via Variety), just before the third season premieres. Micahel Ealy (Fatale, The Intruder) was confirmed to join the ensemble as part of the renewal. “The high-octane drama of ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ remains popular with our audience members, and we’re delighted to be able to get season four production in progress ahead of our season three debut,” said Starz the president of original programming Kathryn Busby. It’s evident that our fans are eager for more of this spectacular series, and we’re thrilled to have Michael join our fantastic ensemble.”

Power Book II: Ghost Season 4 Release Date

The Power Book II: Ghost season 4 premiere date has yet to be revealed by Starz. The previous season aired in 2023, but WGA and then SAG-AFTRA strikes broke out shortly after the May finale. Ghost season 4 is anticipated to launch in 2024, though it’s uncertain whether the strikes would cause Power Book II to be released later in the year than normal. However, Michael Rainy Jr. revealed in April 2023 that the production process was already underway, implying that the next season of Ghost won’t be too far off. The Ghost and Power star emphasised that audiences shouldn’t be forced to wait as long between instalments as they did after the second — “hopefully, perhaps, the anticipation for season 4 doesn’t seem as lengthy as the waiting was for season 3.”

Michael Ealy of Barbershop as well as Think Like A Man fame will become part of the Ghost season 4 cast. Detective Don Carter is a rising New York City Police Department officer whose wife died of a gunshot as an innocent bystander in a gang fight. Carter’s intentions to become Commissioner were disrupted, but he went on to oversee an elite NYPD anti-drug task force. It’s likely that there will be additional Ghost actors joining the cast in the upcoming season, but as Starz has yet to announce any Power Book II news until mid-late 2023, it’s impossible to guess who these may be.

Power Book II: Ghost Season 4 Potential Plot

Season 4 of Power Book II: Ghost will need to handle some significant plot developments lingering from the previous chapter. The Tejadas are still uninformed that the hit against Lorenzo (Berto Colon) was instructed by Monet (Mary J Blige). The influence of Lorenzo’s killing on New York’s criminal underground has yet to be completely felt, and once the Tejada & Castillo families learn of Monet’s deception, there will undoubtedly be consequences. Michael Ealy’s Detective Don Carter came to light when Starz renewed Power Book II: Ghost for a fourth season, thus Carter with his NYPD task team are probably going to play a role in the plot. Carter is likely to be a serious obstacle to Tariq’s ambitions to leave his criminal background. Carter’s past is particularly terrible, and it appears that he sees Tariq as nothing more than another criminal to be apprehended.
