‘Generation’, The Comedy-Drama Canceled After One Season on HBO Max

Generation season 2 cancelled

“Generation” is not going to proceed again to the second season. Initially, This drama+comedy launched in March telecasted on HBO Max. Yet, This is the first time scripted cancellation happens. 

Creator and Executive producer, Zelda Barnz’s experiences rooted the “Generation” so well. This series is all about a gang of high school students from Orange County, Calif; who explores modern sexual life and their most old-fashioned parental community, at the same time. Moreover, The show’s first season comprise of 16 Episodes (divided into 2 parts)

What does HBO Max announce?

HBO Max spokesperson declares, they will not be moving forward with the series to further seasons. Additionally, they are proud to have a partnership with Zelda and her father Daniel Barnz. They feel that they had the connection of faithfulness and authentic style of representing the LGBTQ community; with such a very different group and well-developed characters. Finally, they thank them for their awesome collaboration, gifted cast members, and their hard work.

Nathanya Alexander starring as Arianna, 

Chloe East starring as Naomi, 

Nava Mau as Ana, 

Lukita Maxwell as Delilah, 

Haley Sanchez as Greta, 

Uly Schlesinger as Nathan, 

Nathan Stewart-Jarrett as Sam, 

Chase Sui Wonders as Riley, 

Justice Smith as Chester and 

Martha Plimpton as Megan.


 Whereas, This show’s exec-producers – Zelda Barnz, Daniel Barnz, Ben Barnz, Lena Dunham, Sharr White, John Melfi, and Jenni Konner.

Daniel Barnz and his husband, Ben pictured this series as a way to offer their daughter a career started as a writer. Plus, the all-queer family was expecting many seasons for the series; which purely explains the difficulties LGBTQ teenagers face.  


Initially, Generation is given permission Yet, HBO’s Casey Bloys considered the series as oversight to his experience. Hence, this became the first scripted original to be dropped at WarnerMedia – backed streamer. 

On the other side, HBO Max covers series such as Gossip Girl, “The Flight Attendant”, “Hacks,” “Love Life,” “Made for Love” and TNT import “Raised by Wolves” are proceeding to its second seasons.
