It’s been nearly a year since the fifth season of Rick and Morty was released. However, the beloved grandfather-grandson duo is set to return for their sixth season.

When will Rick and Morty Season 6 release?
Rick and Morty’s official cable network, Adult Swim confirmed on 27th July Wednesday that the mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his grandson Morty Smith will be returning for its sixth season.
They further revealed that Rick and Morty Season 6 is slated to drop this year on the 4th of September Sunday.
The latest season will air at 11 pm Eastern Time. Moreover, the new episodes of the Emmy award-winning animated series will premiere on a weekly basis.
The official Twitter handle of Rick and Morty announced the news on the platform.
They shared a picture of the duo with ‘six pack abs’ and wrote the caption, ‘Ripped and ready – Season 6 coming September 4th.’
Meanwhile, Michael Ouweleen, president of Adult Swim and The Cartoon Network shared a statement about the show’s return.
He said, ‘It’s hard to overstate the impact of Rick and Morty. More than a hit show, it is truly a global phenomenon. As we prepare to launch this soon-to-be iconic season, we will be giving fans a unique way to be part of the fun… so keep your eyes peeled.’

What will be the plot of Season 6?
The previous season of Rick and Morty concluded with a cliffhanger.
In the two-part finale episode, we saw Evil Morty breaking the Central Finite Curve, a wall that obstructed the different multiverses where Rick was not the smartest man on Earth.
The episode ended with Evil Morty stepping through a portal which implied that he was looking for a universe that was uncontrolled by Rick. This opened multiple possible futures for the show’s forthcoming storyline and characters.
Regardless, according to the synopsis of the sixth season, Rick and Morty might be heading towards impending doom.
The overview stated, ‘It’s season six, and Rick and Morty are back! Pick up where we left them, worse for wear and down on their luck. Will they manage to bounce back for more adventures? Or will they get swept up in an ocean of p**s!’
