Groot is finally getting his own show. The adorable Baby Groot is coming to town this summer in ‘I Am Groot’.
Marvel Studios has recently shared many details regarding the upcoming animated series including its title, a new poster, and launch date.
Here is everything you need to know.
What is the release date of ‘I Am Groot’?
The official accounts of Marvel Studios released the first poster for its new series titled, I am Groot.
In the poster, we can see Baby Groot leaning against a Walkman as he chills out at his favorite tunes. He is soaking under a lamp with a delicious-looking drink by his side. Additionally, it features two four-eyed-looking white creatures peeking at Groot from behind a palm tree.
The poster also revealed the release date of the series. According to it, the animated show is slated to debut on the streaming platform Disney plus on 10th August.

What is the synopsis of ‘I Am Groot’?
A brief synopsis of ‘I Am Groot’ was shared alongside the poster.
It read, ‘Baby Groot’s glory days growing up, and getting into trouble among the stars.’
The show will consist of original shorts. It will most likely be set up in a world of photorealistic animation with Baby Groot getting in and out of trouble.
Who will feature in ‘I Am Groot’?
Vin Diesel will return to voice the show-centric character, Groot.
Only one character in the show is confirmed as of yet. However, according to the storyboard art another character from Guardians of the Galaxy, most possibly Drax, to make an appearance on the show.
Drax had previously featured in Marvel Studios’ first animated series, What If…?. Although he was voiced by Fred Tatasciore instead of the original star Dave Bautista.
Director James Gunn is one of the executive producers for the show. Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, and Brad Winderbaum are the other execs.
Groot became an integral part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after he sacrificed himself in 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy. He was however reborn as a baby.
The last we have seen Groot was as a foul-mouthed adolescent in Avengers: Endgame.
Groot is slated to feature in Thor: Love and Thunder as well as the Guardians of the Galaxy holiday special. Both of them have 2022 release dates.
He will also play a big part in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 which is ready to hit the theater screens on 5th May 2023.
