Reports say, Dakota Johnson will be joining Sony/Marvel Universe soon. 32-year-old actress Dakota Johnson is going to feature in a “Spider-man” spinoff entitled “Madame Web” for Sony Pictures. Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless will be writing the screenplay for this show and its director is S.J. Clarkson, confirmed by Deadline.

This character that Dakota Johnson is going to play in Spider-man was first introduced in the 1980s “the Amazing Spider-Man”.

In the movie, Madame Web has the superpower to predict the future of Spidey superheroes. Her character is drawn as an old woman who is paralyzed as well as blind. In this movie, Madame Web is surrounded by machinery with a web-like structure for helping her to stay safe and live her life like a normal human being.

With this female character, Sony is trying hard to create a Sony Universe within the Marvel World. The company owns the film rights to Spider-man character which has been recently featured in box office hit “Spiderman: No Way Home”. This movie has earned $1.7 billion worldwide, as per sources.

In past, Sony has released several solo Spider-man films such as Venom (2018), the sequel Venom Let There Be Carnage (2020), and Morbius. ‘Morbius’ movie is directed by Jared Leto and will be released in April 2022.

Dakota Johnson Talks With Andrew Garfield

As per sources, Dakota Johnson has talked to Andrew Garfield, former “The Social Network” co-star and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” actor about Vanity Fair. They were discussing their time working together on the 2010s Facebook drama of Aaron Sorkin.

She told Garfield about their first meeting and the co-star Jesse Eisenberg, “I remember sitting down with you guys when you were having lunch one day, and you ask me loads of questions. You were really nice, Jesse didn’t acknowledge me.”

Garfield told Johnson that Eisenberg may have just been playing the character of Mark Zukerberg. He added, “Oh Boy, I don’t know. I feel like I need to defend him in some way. There was maybe some of the Zuckerberg coming through at that moment.”

Dakota Johnson replied, “you and Jesse were so busy on that movie. I was obviously in it for four seconds, but I spent a few days on set just watching.”

Garfield also talked about his friendship with Dakota Johnson saying he saw her when they met for the first time at a party. He said, “I remember seeing you at the after-party, and you were just so lovely and energetic and excited to connect. I felt the same way.”
