Pokemon Journeys Episode 89: According to some fans of the series, this episode was the strongest Project Mew Episode till now. In the next week, Goh will return to the Sinnoh region. Goh, Ash, and Chloe end up investigating some strange space-time anomalies, leading them to explore a world parallel to theirs. It will be worth watching.
Pokemon Journeys Episode 88: Recap
Pokemon Journeys Episode 88 was quite a significant one with important twists. In this episode, we see Goh undertaking his second proper Trial Mission for Project Mew. This leads him to Heonn and then to an underwater treasure involving Mr. Genji.
To Join Project Mew, participants have to clear missions, in return, they will get tokens and three participants with the most number of tokens will be selected.
At the start, Goh selects t he mission setting up the difficulties of catching a wild Kingdra (because he thought it would be fun). Goh and Ash were quite confident. Both of them dive into the sea in search of the Pokemon but he realizes that it is harder than he thought because of the floating Monster Ball. They realize that in order to find Kingdra, Seadra has to appear and they are not able to find Seadra.
They try diving deeper and on their way, they meet other pokemon. Mr Genji notices them having a hard time and asked them what they’re up to. Even though Ash and Mr Genji have only met once, it was surprising to see that they remembered each other’s names but mispronounced them.
Mr Genji, the man of the sea doesn’t just help Goh find Kingdra, in a way he helps in “Crack the puzzle” and lets Goh find Kingdra himself. While earlier episodes had been more focused on Mr Genji’s strength and power, this one was focused on his treasure hunting hobby.
Ash too plays an important role. This time the episode keeps him as a consistent presence while he helps Goh find Kingdra.
In the entire episode, Goh’s analytical and resourceful nature was highlighted, while the challenges put before he wasn’t the ones he could easily overcome. Viewers also see a different and kinder side of Goh when he bonds with Seadra and offers a dragon scale.
