Thousands of Manchester United fans have invaded the pitch at Old Trafford in a mass protest against the American Glazer family’s ownership of the club. They went wild on the stadium which led to delay in the kick off. “Never again.” That was the chant from thousands of Manchester United fans protesting against the club’s ownership in the wake of the disastrous European Super League project – in which the Glazers played a key role. This led to a major problem in the starting of the game.
Manchester United’s players were forced to get off their team bus after hundreds of supporters flocked onto the roads around the Lowry Hotel in Manchester last night. These protests are not often seen but people should keep sports away and pure from these. People enjoy sports and love them. But some people are so fond of making others’ lives difficult and don’t want them to live peacefully. Hundreds of United fans took to the pitch and set off flares as a token of protest. Thousands more took part in demonstrations outside the ground in their opposition to the Glazer family’s ownership.
Members of the ground staff have been cleaning the tarmac at Old Trafford since moments after the incident occurred. While fans were taking to the pitch, the Premier League decided not to cancel the game because leaving an unscheduled break in the season could send a message that the government is not taking it seriously. There was also no breach of ‘red zone’ protocol – due to the fans not entering the ground’s changing rooms. This letting the game to go on with some another timing.
