Who is Justine Gross? How did She died?
In a strange accident earlier this month, a student from Penn State was found dead. The student’s name was Justine Gross. She was 19 years old. Justine Gross was found dead at the Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority Transfer station. She was reported missing a night before she was found on November 12. This report was provided by the State College police on Friday
On November 10 around 11:30 in the night she ran a dozen of floors. She then fell inside a solid waste disposal chute on the 11th floor of her apartment building. Then she fell in a waste receptacle which was on the ground floor, the police mentioned.
A piece of evidence in the form of a video shows that she was alone in the hallway of the 11th floor and also in the waste disposal room when she fell.
Justine was reported missing on November 11 at 5:15 p.m. She was found at the refuse station on November 12 at 2:45 a.m. In the middle of her fall and discovery of her body, the waste receptacle had been emptied by a State College refuse truck.
Justine’s Mother’s Statements
Justine Gross is from New Jersey. Her mother reported to NJ Advance that Justine had a ‘smoke’ with a man in the building before her fall. Although she did not clarify what they were smoking.
Justine’s mother Francoise Gross told the outlet that she spoke with the man Justine was smoking with. The man told that Justine had a really bad reaction to the smoke because of which she went into panic mode.
Francoise was shown video footage by the police. In the video, it was seen that Justine had left her 10th floor and gone to the 7th floor to the man’s apartment. After which they both left apartment before Justine ran to the 11th floor. She ran alone to the 11th floor and into the chute room.
The police say that the incident still appears to be an accident and that all the witnesses are cooperating well with the police.
Although Francoise believes that someone was chasing her daughter and that Justine headed for the chute thinking that it was a staircase.
Lisa Powers the spokesperson of Penn State told NJ Advance that it will be inappropriate if the University would interfere with the investigation. She also said that it would be inappropriate to share information that was not publicly released yet.
Power’s also said that they were heartbroken for the family and friends of Justine Gross and they offer their condolences to everyone who knew and loved her. Penn State staff in student affairs and others are offering assistance to the family and friends who are mourning the loss.
On Thursday night a vigil was held for Justine outside her apartment building. Her funeral will be held in New Jersey this Saturday.
