While the Russia-Ukraine crisis is far from ending, there are the latest details coming out that the Melitopol Mayor of Ukraine Ivan Fedorov has been abducted forcefully by the Russian soldiers. As the act has been condemned worldwide, there’s Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his concern about the abduction of the mayor.

Who is Ivan Fedorov?

Ivan Fedorov, is the Ukrainian Mayor of Melitopol who is 33 years old. He has been actively serving on the post since 2020. Prior to being the Melitopol Mayor, Fedorov was the Deputy Head of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Council.

However, it was recently when the Ukrainian authorities announced that the Mayor has been abducted by the Russian soldiers, he came into the limelight. Owing to which the act by the Russian Authorities has been badly condemned.

Ivan Fedorov has been abducted by the Russian soldier

It was reportedly only this week when the video of Melitopol Mayor being abducted by the Russian soldiers have been surfacing on the internet. While the Ukraine authorities posted about the Mayor. The video surfacing on the internet can be seen with the Mayor forcefully taken out of an office building with his face covered with a black plastic bag.

The posted details about Mayor on social media had stated that at least 10 occupiers kidnapped the Mayor from the Zaporizhzhya region, Melitopol. It also stated that the Mayor was abducted because he had refused to give up on his region to the Russian army.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky’s reaction on the Mayor’s kidnapping

While Melitopol is being under the Russian army. The kidnapping of Ivan Fedorov has come as a shock to all. President Volodymyr Zelensky however on the abduction expressed his concern on Friday this week. He called the act of the Russian army a “new stage of terror”. Zelensky has condemned the abduction of Fedorov while he is still unmoved with his intentions to protect his country.

Moreover, it isn’t the first when Ukrainian official members got abducted. It happened before too when the Deputy Head of the Regional Council of Zaporizhzhya got abducted who was later released. Meanwhile, right now the Ukrainian authorities are seeking support from all to stop the war by Russia on Ukraine that has cost so many lives still date.
