Royce Reed Turned Herself Into The Police and charged with neglect of a child

Basketball Wives star Royce Reed suffers another setback. In documents obtained by Radar, the actress surrendered to police in Orange County, Florida, and was charged with third-degree felony neglect of a child as of Thursday, March 10.

She has a son named Braylon, 14, who she shares with athlete Dwight Howard.

Documents mention that Braylon is now working through issues with professionals regarding previous incidents.

Several rules were set by a judge for Braylon to follow 

A judge had given Braylon rules about hanging out with kids his own age – which included not hanging out without an adult with those two years younger than him.

Royce is being blamed for breaking the rules while Brandon is accused of doing so. Royce and her boyfriend appeared to have fully cooperated with investigators. Braylon was interviewed by police regarding the allegations.

The last time he saw Howard was asked during the conversation. Braylon told the report he last visited when he played basketball during a visit here some time ago.

Braylon claims he has been in contact with his father, but they haven’t spoken since they had a falling out. The last time he was at Howard’s house was “sometime during the 2020 quarantine.”

During a police interview, Brandon was asked when he last saw Howard. It will be sometime during the 2020 quarantine when his father comes to town for a basketball game.

He allegedly complained to Orlando child services in 2014 about the way Dwight had bruised his leg after he had been physically abused with a belt.

Although Howard admitted hitting his son, he insisted that, as this was how he was disciplined, there was nothing wrong with it. The case was dropped, and Dwight was not charged.

Who is Royce Reed?

Dancer, reality TV star, and author, Royce Reed is mostly known for appearing in reality shows like Basketball Wives, Inside Edition, and First Lady on VH1.

Dwight Howard’s ex-girlfriend and the owner and founder of the Fantastique dance company. Her older brother, Ryan Reed, is 39 years old and she was born on June 22, 1980. There is no information on her parents or siblings.

Her degree in Theatre Education was obtained from Florida A&M University after she graduated from Dr. Phillips High School. In the beginning, Reed worked as a dancer and a cocktail waitress at Hooters.

After her time at Walt Disney World, Royce Reed worked as a coordinator, a spieler, and a dance instructor at Studio 305 Dance Studio. The Miami Heat and Orlando Magic basketball teams have employed her as a dancer.

In 2005, she was in a relationship with Howard. Their first meeting took place in July 2004 while she was dancing for Orlando Magic. It was on November 18th, 2007 that they welcomed their son Braylon Joshua Robert.

She spoke out about the whole situation through Instagram on March 11, the day after she turned herself into the police on charges of child neglect. There is no reason why she should ever have to deal with this. She mentioned that he was not arrested and to contact her attorney. 

She replied with a caption noting she was ready to do comedy reels and TikTok again, but in the meantime, she encouraged everyone to contact Andrea Black, her attorney.
