Following the incident at the Oscars 2022, Smith apologised to Chris Rock and announced his resignation from the Academy. Smith was also banned from The Academy for a decade as a result of his activities on that day. Smith made a snap decision when he stepped on stage and smacked comedian Chris Rock, who had made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair, according to the 57-year-old record producer. Chris Rock was supposedly unaware of Pinkett Smith’s baldness at the time.

After the fiasco, a slew of celebrities, including Jeff, have come out in favour of the Oscar winner.
