A video of a dolphin thrashing and fighting his trainer in front of a crowd. The Miami Seaquarium has gone popular on social media. After the incident, the trainer can be seen kneeling in astonishment while another person consoles her in the video. Thankfully, no significant injuries were sustained as a result of the occurrence.

When did the incident of the dolphin striking the trainer at the Miami Seaquarium occur?

On April 9, the incident occurred 10 minutes into a 30-minute programme. Shannon Carpenter, a photographer, was at the show with his family and filmed the moment on TikTok. The trainer appeared to be straining to keep afloat in the video. She appeared to be propelled violently forward in the water.

After briefly vanishing beneath the water, she made her way out of the pool. The aquatic mammal could not be seen clearly and appeared to have swum away. Officials from the park released a statement saying that the animal, dubbed ‘Sundance,’ got scared after the trainer fell into the water, causing the disaster. “On Saturday, a dolphin and its trainer clashed in the water while practising a normal activity as part of the Flipper Show. The dolphin reacted by breaking away from the pattern and attacking the trainer, which was an uncomfortable contact for both of them.”

The reason for the dolphin’s attack on the trainer has been revealed

This was not an “accidental collision,” according to Dr Jenna Wallace, a former veterinarian at the Miami Seaquarium, but rather an act of “violence.” She said that the trainer had been slammed by the animal’s rostrum. This isn’t the first time the animal has attacked a trainer, according to Wallace. “I’ve been told by previous veterinarians and personnel that this animal rammed another trainer in the abdomen,” she said in an interview with Local 10 News.
Wallace went on to say that when dolphins act aggressively, there is usually a cause behind it. She believes that the animal’s mismanagement encouraged such behaviour.
