Rapper Lil Tjay Taken Into Custody While en Route to Ice Spice Video Shoot

Lil Tjay was arrested by the NYPD on Monday in the Bronx for an alleged weapons violation. A law enforcement source tells TMZ Hip Hop that Tjay was arrested after a traffic stop in the Bronx while en route to film with fellow NYC rapper Ice Spice. According to TMZ, officers found a handgun in Tjay’s vehicle and arrested him. In the process of being booked for weapons possession, the 21-year-old is currently en route to an NYPD station. Tjay was spotted in handcuffs in the video of the arrest that has already gone viral.

Lil Tjay did not respond when the person recording the event questioned him. There have been no comments on the arrest from his representatives. After being shot in June 2022, Lil Tjay performed at The Wellmont Theater in New Jersey earlier this month. There are even some pictures he posted from the event. One of the photos showed him shirtless and the bullet wounds were visible. The singer performed at another event after his recovery in September 2022 and said he felt better and blessed at the time. In addition, he thanked everyone who attended.

Rapper Lil Tjay Arrested By The NYPD For An Alleged Weapons Violation
Four others, including Lil Tjay, were recently arrested for firearm possession. It is reported that he was en route to shooting a music video with rapper Ice Spice. There were four other passengers inside Tjay’s SUV when he was stopped at a traffic light in the Bronx. A few weapons were found in the car after the cops searched it. As Tjay was spotted in handcuffs in a video, the arrest has already gone viral. As someone recorded the event, Tjay was questioned, but the rapper did not respond. As of yet, his representatives have not commented on the arrest. The Wellmont Theater in New Jersey hosted Lil Tjay’s performance earlier this month after he was shot in June 2022. A few pictures of the event were even posted by him. His bullet wounds were visible in one of the photos, which showed him shirtless. As he mentioned at the time, he was feeling better and blessed after performing at another event after his recovery in September 2022. Afterward, he thanked all attendees.
Last year, Tjay and his friend Antoine Boyd were shot. Later, Mohamed Konate was identified as the perpetrator and charged with murder, robbery, and weapons offenses. Konate threatened Tjay and his friends at gunpoint to give him their jewellery, according to one of the victims. During the incident, Tjay suffered severe injuries. In addition to being hospitalized, he had to undergo surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center. The initial reports of Tjay’s paralysis and brain death were false until some sources confirmed that his condition was stable, and he later stated that he would return to the stage soon. A new album by him was released in April 2021. In addition to 21 singles, Destined 2 Win reached the 5th spot on the US Billboard 200 chart. Also, the 21-year-old released EPs such as No Comparison, F.N, State of Emergency, and Strcitly4MyFans. Further, Lil Tjay appears on singles by Lil Durk, Pop Smoke, Tory Lanez, French Montana, Polo G, and Gucci Mane.
