Amy Grant shuts down homophobic criticism over niece’s same-s*x wedding
Amy Grant talked about her decision to host her niece’s same-sex wedding during a recent interview with PEOPLE magazine.
Moreover, she got candid about the feedback she is receiving because of her decision.
She said, ‘I never chase any of those rabbits down the rabbit hole. I love my family, I love those brides. They’re wonderful, our family is better, and you should be able to be who you are with your family, and be loved by them.’
In addition, Grant went on to reveal that her niece tied the knot with her wife at the same farm where she and her husband Vince Gill got married in 2000.
Additionally, the 62-year-old musician will be celebrating 23 years of marriage with Gill in March.
Grant added, ‘I own a farm that I bought back in the ’90s and they were just looking for a beautiful place to get married.’
She also said, ‘So, she and Sam got married on the same hillside where Vince and I got married.’
Amy Grant spoke about her niece’s coming out journey
Amy Grant detailed her niece’s coming out in an interview with Washington Post back in November.
She mentioned, ‘Honestly, from a faith perspective, I do always say, ‘Jesus, you just narrowed it down to two things: love God and love each other. I mean, hey — that’s pretty simple.’
Besides that, Grant admitted that her husband Vince Gill’s support was very important after her July bike accident.

The representatives of Grant have previously confirmed that she was rushed to a hospital last summer after she hit a pothole on a Nashville bicycle ride.
In addition, the Christian singer sustained cuts and abrasions due to her accident.
Moreover, the doctors at the hospital ‘ordered additional recovery time’ for Grant which forced her to postpone multiple tour dates.
She shared, ‘[Gill] said, “Things happen to people every day, and you just have to take one day at a time, and we’re here, and I love you.” And that just kind of made every day of the journey okay. And I do feel fantastic.’
Meanwhile, Grant opened a Los Angeles concert this weekend and honored A&M Records co-founder Jerry Moss.
Besides that, she performed her classic hit ‘I Will Remember You’ before artists such as David Foster and Sting took the stage.
