Morgan Wallen’s Nashville Bar Grand Opening Postponed Last Minute

Morgan Wallen’s Nashville bar grand opening was unexpectedly postponed at the last minute, leaving fans and attendees disappointed.
Country music star Morgan Wallen’s much-anticipated bar and restaurant, This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen, was set to make its grand debut in downtown Nashville over Memorial Day weekend. However, those plans have been unexpectedly postponed, according to representatives from TC Restaurant Group, the organization partnering with Wallen on the project.
Located at 107 4th Ave. N., the six-story venue was meant to join a lineup of other celebrity establishments in Nashville, including those by Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, and Jason Aldean. The delay was confirmed in a statement issued to Billboard, which expressed pride in the team’s efforts and acknowledged the complexity of launching such a large-scale venture.
“We’re proud of our team who has worked tirelessly to prepare Morgan Wallen’s This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen for opening. The ground-up construction of a six-story venue launching with hundreds of team members is a tremendous amount of work and a complex process,” the statement read.
The statement continued, “When we open, we want This Bar to be an exceptional experience for guests. Unfortunately, the process requires more time, and we are not able to open and provide that experience this Memorial Day weekend. Rest assured it will be well worth the wait. We look forward to welcoming guests soon.”
A source revealed to Billboard that the postponement is due to pending final inspections. However, the source did not comment on whether the venue had been denied a catering license, which is required for selling alcohol, as reported by Scoop Nashville. The delay is unrelated to the Nashville Metro Council’s recent decision to reject approval for an external sign for the bar.
On May 21, the council voted against Wallen’s proposed 20-foot external sign, citing it as an “aerial encroachment” that would interfere with the sidewalk. The council’s decision saw 30 members voting against the sign, three in favor, and four abstaining. Some council members referenced Wallen’s controversial past, including his use of a racial slur in January 2021 and a recent arrest for throwing a chair off a rooftop, as reasons for their opposition.
Wallen had announced the bar’s opening on May 4 during one of his three sold-out shows at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, though he did not specify an exact date. “It’s over off 4th Ave. just beside the Ryman [Auditorium], and it’s going to be opening Memorial Day weekend, so I hope I see y’all there,” Wallen said from the stage. The bar’s official Instagram account initially posted the video of his announcement but has since removed it. The account now features a video of downtown Nashville with the name of Wallen’s bar and the words “Coming Summer 2024.”
Despite the setback, anticipation remains high for the opening of This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen. Fans and future patrons are eager to experience what promises to be a unique and vibrant addition to Nashville’s renowned entertainment scene.
