The highly anticipated boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, originally scheduled for July 20, has been postponed due to a medical emergency involving Tyson. The legendary boxer experienced a flare-up of an ulcer, necessitating a temporary halt in his rigorous training regimen.

In a statement released to his fans, Tyson expressed gratitude for the widespread support and understanding during this period. “I want to thank my fans around the world for their support and understanding during this time. Unfortunately, due to my ulcer flare-up, I have been advised by my doctor to lighten my training for a few weeks to rest and recover,” he said. Tyson emphasized that, despite the setback, his overall physical condition is the best it has been since the 1990s and assured that he will soon return to his full training schedule.

Earlier this week, Mike Tyson had already addressed concerns about his health, confirming that he was on the mend after the initial scare. However, a follow-up consultation with medical professionals resulted in advice to engage only in light training over the next few weeks. In a reassuring message to his followers, Tyson wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Now feeling 100% even though I don’t need to be to beat Jake Paul,” indicating his confidence and readiness to return to the ring soon.

The incident occurred during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles, where Tyson became nauseous and dizzy due to the ulcer flare-up approximately 30 minutes before landing. His representative confirmed to Page Six that Tyson received prompt medical attention and is now feeling much better. The spokesperson also clarified that an air conditioning issue, not Tyson’s medical condition, caused a delay before takeoff.

The postponement of the fight has disappointed many fans who were eagerly awaiting the clash between the boxing icon and the YouTube star turned boxer. Despite the delay, the anticipation for the match remains high. Mike Tyson’s dedication to his training and his determination to return to peak condition have reassured fans that the bout will still be worth the wait.

Jake Paul, known for his provocations and confidence in the ring, has yet to comment extensively on the postponement. However, the delay might provide him with additional time to prepare for facing one of boxing’s most formidable figures.

As the new date for the fight is awaited, both Tyson’s and Paul’s fans are left in suspense, eager to see the two fighters eventually meet in the ring. For now, Tyson’s health and recovery take precedence, ensuring that when the match does take place, both fighters will be at their best.
