Meet Iman Shumpert, The Dancing with the Stars Season 30 Champion

Dancing with the Stars announced the winner of season 30 on Monday. Iman Shumpert and Daniella Karagach took the trophy home with them as Tyra Banks announced them winners. 

While the show started with several celebrity pairs, only four could find their way to the top. They were Amanda Kloots and Alan Bersten, Cody Riggsby and Cheryl Burke, Jojo Siwa and Jenna Johnson, and Iman Shumpert and Daniella Karagach. While Iman bagged the first position, Jojo and Jenna came second and Cody and Cheryl bagged the third position. Leaving Amanda Kloots and Alan Bersten to the fourth position. 

About The Episode-

The contestants performed twice in the finale episode, the first was the fusion dance that was a mix of two different dance styles while the second was a freestyle performance that wowed judges.

Amanda Kloots and Alan Bersten’s fusion dance was a mix of Viennese waltz and Pasodoble on the song “Never Tear Us Apart”. They were given a score of 38 out of 40 by the judges. The second performance was a freestyle on “A Sky Full Of Stars” by Coldplay and it earned them a perfect score of 40 out of 40. 

While Bruno said that they were shining brighter than ever, Carrie Ann gushed that Amanda was “hope and brilliance personified”. 

Cody Riggsby and Cheryl Burke’s performance was a mix of Paso Doble and cha-cha on the hit song “Free Your Mind” by En Vogue. The performance filled with energy earned them a score of 36 out of 40. The freestyle performance got them a perfect score of 40 out of 40. They performed to Todrick Hall’s dance hit “Nails, Hair, Hips, Heels” Len called the performance “Wacky and Wild”.

Jojo Siwa and Jenna Johnson amazed the judges with their performance. They did a blend of Tango and Cha-cha on “I Love It” by Icona Pop feat. Charli XCX. This performance swayed the judges and nabbed them a perfect score. While they performed a freestyle on Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” which earned them their second perfect score. They made history by being the show’s first-ever same-sex couple. Carrie Ann remarked that the fierce performance was “beyond amazing”.

Iman Shumpert and Daniella took the competition to a next level with their funk fusion performance. They blended cha-cha and Fox Trot on Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September”. They amazed everyone with their second performance on “Bounce” by DJ Clent and “Lose Control” by Missy Elliott.

Judge Julianne Hough was so mesmerized by the performance that she said, “I will go on record right now: that was my favourite freestyle I’ve ever seen in 30 seasons of Dancing with the Stars!”
