Who is Key Glock? Memphis Rapper Speaks Out on Young Dolph’s Murder

Rapper Young Dolph was shot dead on November 17 while he was in his hometown Memphis. The rap community has been mourning the loss of the 36-year-old rapper. While the rapper’s murder is being investigated, reports suggest that somebody unexpectedly showed up and shot him, killing him on the spot. On Instagram, Key Glock pays tribute to Young Dolph.
Several celebrities have paid tribute to the late rapper on social media. Key Glock too recently broke his silence and spoke on the incident.
Who is Key Glock?
Key Glock (24) is a rapper and songwriter from Memphis, Tennessee. Key Glock is Markeyvius LaShun Cathey’s stage name. He is Young Dolph’s cousin.
Glock gained popularity when he released a mixtape “Glock Season” in 2017. In the same year, he signed Young Dolph’s record label Paper Route Empire.
He and Young Dolph collaborated on an album “Dum and Dummer” which reached the eighth spot on Billboards 200.
“Major” by Young Dolph which featured Key Glock reached the 47th spot on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Glock became a known name in the rapping community while his connection with Young Dolph proved beneficial. They have created some hit songs together which established Glock in the rapping scene.
In 2020, he released his solo mixtape “Yellow Tape” which secured 14th position on the Billboard 200.
What Did Key Glock Say?
Following Young Dolph’s death, fans were expecting Glock to make a statement. However, mourning the loss of his cousin, he deactivated his Twitter and removed all his Instagram pictures.
Finally, Key Glock broke his silence and posted on his Instagram story – “STOP asking me if I’m ok knowing damn well I ain’t…”
He also posted a series of heartwarming pictures on his feed and wrote a long caption expressing his sadness over the loss of his brother. “damn bro, I’m LOST. my heart is torn my brain bout to explode it HURTS when I breathe..why did you leave me so soon?? I’ll never be the same, you was my lefthand man, my brother, my cousin, my mentor and my drank partner.” The rapper wrote.
He also added that over the past two years, he has lost his auntie, grandma and now Dolph. Key Glock added, “Words really can’t explain how I truly feel right now.. I’m sick to my stomach bruh!! Peace ain’t even working.. all I see is DARKNESS, only GOD knows how much you meant to me”.
Fans started reacting to Glock’s message to his cousin and urged everyone to keep the family in their prayers.
