Kanye West has made his frantic debut into the realm of live streaming. He hosted it with a listening party and live performance of his new album ‘Donda 2’. The amazing concert, which was seen by millions across the world, was well-hyped – and delivered on it (for the most part).

Ye’s Donda 2 reveal was a one-of-a-kind live performance and online experience. It was a combination of spectacular images and great music. There were some audio glitches as well and the oddest spectacles you can imagine.

This live event was announced on Kanye’s Instagram earlier in February. Since then fans have been losing their minds speculating on how it might go down.

Despite being hampered by audio difficulties and strewn with questionable numbers, Donda 2 clearly had the release effect that Kanye hoped for.

How was Donda 2 Experience?

The ‘Donda 2 Experience,’ which was once solely available via stemplayer.com, was (and still is) available to watch on Twitch and YouTube. According to Twitch Tracker, West’s Donda 2 premiere stream of the event had 194,748 views. And it surpassed Daft Punk’s 172k on the same day. The experience’s YouTube videos have been seen well over 500,000 times and are still growing.

The live feed itself was a four-hour marathon. Starting with a two-and-a-half-hour-long waiting room with a pulse. When the concert started, a massive water arena with a stylized representation of Kanye’s boyhood house was set ablaze.

From the explosive opening performance, the night continued to become crazier throughout, with cameos, unheard music, and visual treats.

Over one and a half hours of intermittent music, fans were treated to the Donda experience. It also included premieres of tracks such as ‘Flowers,’ ‘Louis Bags’ (feat. Jack Harlow), and ‘Kid We Did It’ (feat. Kid Keem and Migos), with Jack Harlow and Migos joining Kanye’s nostalgic childhood, meet hell stage for their respective verses.

Ye then played a clip of ex-partner Kim Kardashian’s SNL speech from October of last year. In that clip, she referred to him as “the finest rapper of all time” and the “richest Black guy in America.”

With the “Donda 2 hype train” in full flow, it’s evident that the event has stoked the ever-present pot of curiosity in Kanye’s 11th studio album.

“It wasn’t without problems”

The concert wasn’t without problems. With audio issues, fans have already recorded footage of how they anticipate Kanye dealing with the production staff after he exited the stage.

Even with these flaws, it’s difficult to see Ye being very concerned about Donda 2’s success.

Following the announcement that the album will only be accessible for listening on the Stem Player, sales of the player had surpassed the $1.2 million mark.

He’s now doubled down on his stance on his decision to sell the record only through his own channel. He added, “Some say I’m the only one who can make this change. So as the leading innovator in the music of the past 20 years, I’m putting my own work on the line to change it.”
