Depp and Heard had a blossoming relationship during the start of their romance, according to the guard. He claimed that it was all lovey-dovey at first. Everything went perfectly. The honeymoon period had begun. “Yes, that was enjoyable. It was wonderful to see Johnny smiling once more.”

He went on to say that things between the two “began to shift” as they fought more frequently. Connolly also went into detail about the changes he saw in Heard. He said that Amber had begun to change. Amber became a little fierier and demanding. Amber seemed to want to be the one to wear the trousers in their relationship. “That was pretty obvious”.

Connolly also testified that he frequently overheard Heard and Depp arguing, but that he never witnessed any physical violence between the two: “I could hear both of them arguing, but I never witnessed any physical violence between the couple”.

The bodyguard also told the court that he began to notice scrapes and injuries on Depp’s face, but that he never noticed any evidence of abuse on Heard.

He also stated that Depp’s bruises and marks began to “become more regular,” despite the fact that they were not evident “every week.”

A snapshot taken by Connolly during Depp and Heard’s 2013 honeymoon was exhibited to the jury shortly after. Johnny Depp was seen smiling with Amber Heard and others in the viral photo, with apparent injuries and possibly swelling on his face.

Connolly clarified that Heard was always cordial to him, but that he witnessed her quarrel with Depp while filming the fifth episode of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie in Los Angeles and Australia.

Connolly’s evidence brought the Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard trial to a close for the week, and it will resume in Fairfax County court on Monday.
