The death of a Metairie woman found fatally shot inside a Harvey home Thursday night is being investigated by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office. Brandie Franklin, 36, was identified by the Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office. According to officials, an autopsy revealed she died of a gunshot wound to the head. Franklin’s corpse was located around 8:45 p.m. inside a house on Ravenna Street (map), according to Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Capt. Jason Rivarde. After receiving a report of an unresponsive woman, deputies proceeded to the house.

Franklin was declared dead on the spot. The case is still being investigated, and authorities have no leads on a suspect or motive, according to Rivarde. A police investigation was launched after Brandie Frankling was identified during the initial investigation. During the investigation, it was determined that she was 36 years old when she died. Her death was caused by a gunshot wound, as confirmed by an autopsy. So yet, no arrests have been made, and no one has been identified by law enforcement as a suspect.
