Holly Valance, the former star of “Neighbours” and pop singer, is set to host a significant fundraising event for Donald Trump in London. This event marks a notable shift from her days in the fictional town of Erinsborough to active political involvement on the international stage. Reports indicate that Valance, now a political activist, will host a fundraiser to support the former US President’s bid for a second, non-consecutive term in office.

According to The Guardian, the fundraiser has already amassed $2 million in donations as of June 12, 2024. Valance’s transition into political activism gained momentum after she met Trump alongside Nigel Farage, the leader of Reform UK, in 2022. Farage is expected to attend the event, which will feature a reception and dinner with Donald Trump Jr. and his fiancée, Kimberly Guilfoyle, along with other American Republicans.

Despite Trump himself not attending due to his campaign commitments in the US, the event is anticipated to be a high-profile gathering. Scheduled to take place in either Chelsea or Knightsbridge, London, the fundraiser will host approximately 100 attendees. Invitations adorned with the Trump logo detail various donation tiers: $100,000 for the “host committee” couple, $50,000 for dinner, $25,000 for a photo opportunity, and $10,000 for general attendance.

Holly Valance and her husband, Nick Candy, have been publicly connected to Trump and Farage since at least April 2022. Their association was highlighted when Farage tweeted a photo of them dining at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort. Valance’s increasing political involvement saw her attend the Popular Conservatism movement launch event earlier this year, founded by former UK Prime Minister Liz Truss.

In an interview with GB News, Holly Valance shared her political evolution, stating, “I would say that everyone starts as a lefty and then wakes up at some point after you start either making money, working, trying to run a business, trying to buy a home, and then realize what crap ideas they all are, and then you go to the right.”

This London event is part of a broader effort to rally support for Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign. Key figures expected to attend include Richard Grenell, former acting director of US national intelligence, and Woody Johnson, owner of the New York Jets and former US ambassador to the UK. These influential supporters underscore the high stakes and strategic importance of the fundraiser.

Although Trump will be on the campaign trail, there is speculation that he might make a virtual appearance or send a recorded message, similar to his video message played at Farage’s 60th birthday celebration in April.

While this elite event is set to attract significant attention and donations, grassroots Democratic supporters in London will counter with a more modest £40-a-head comedy event aimed at mobilizing voters. Kristin Kaplan Wolfe, chair of Democrats Abroad UK, emphasized their commitment to voter registration and electoral success, contrasting sharply with the opulent Trump fundraiser.

As Valance continues to cement her role in political circles, her hosting of this fundraising event for Donald Trump illustrates her significant shift from entertainment to active political engagement on the radical right.
