Elon Musk will have the final say in the decisions regarding Twitter despite establishing a Content Moderation Council.

Here is everything you need to know.

Elon Musk’s Content Moderation Council is powerless

Elon Musk recently revealed to his staff that he will have the ultimate say about what goes on Twitter. Hence, this means that the Content Moderation Council on the platform will have powers similar to a paper tiger.

A video of Musk started surfacing on the internet earlier this week. In the video, the Twitter CEO appears to be conducting a Zoom meeting for his employers on Saturday.

Moreover, during the chat, Musk talked about the Content Moderation Council that he promised late last month.

In addition, the 51-year-old billionaire stated that while there will be a Council it will only be advisory means.

Furthermore, Musk said that he will select the members of the Council and will have the power to either reject or accept their suggestions.

Elon Musk says there will be a Content Moderation Council for Twitter

Elon Musk announced late last month there he will establish a Content Moderation Council on Twitter.

Moreover, the main aim of the council is supposed to calm the users on t he platform who are concerned about misinformation/hate messages on the micro-blogging site.

Musk said at that time, ‘Twitter will be forming a content moderation council with widely diverse viewpoints.’

He added, ‘To be super clear, we have not yet made any changes to Twitter’s content moderation policies.’

However, since announcing the Council, Musk has made several seemingly on-the-whim decisions on Twitter.

If you didn’t know, the new owner of Twitter suspended and reinstated users on the platform.

Meanwhile, he began a poll on Twitter and asked users whether he should reinstate Donald Trump over the weekend.

Musk seemingly gave a green light for the USA’s former president to return after a slim majority turned thumbs up in the online voting.

Here it is important to note that Musk never did say that he will adhere to the will of the majority during the online poll.

Moreover, many users believe that Trump will return to the platform despite his initial reluctance to reach the voters.

In the meantime, the situation at Twitter is quite similar to Wild West where Musk is continuing to play as the Sheriff, Mayor, and Governor.
