Here is everything you need to know.
French radio host under fire for ‘Korean virgins’ remark
French radio host Philip Caveriviere commented on the 2022 FIFA World Cup on 21st November on radio channel RTL.
However, while talking about the opening ceremony, the French DJ seemingly made some rude comments about Jung Kook and BTS.
Moreover, one fan translated his remark and shared it on her Twitter account.
Caveriviere supposedly said, ‘There weren’t a lot of stars. Oh yes, there was a Korean group of virgins…’
I'm so tired y'all… It's been 4 years since BTS' first concert in France, they're more mainstream than ever and yet it never stop… Always the same disrespectful and insulting "jokes" from French media. Casual racism in broad daylight and they're laughing proud of themselves

However, the fans found the statement racist, inappropriate and xenophobic. They soon started calling out the radio host and radio RTL for the rude comment.
The fans further bombarded the Twitter and Instagram of their respective accounts and ordered an apology from Caveriviere.
Meanwhile, a Twitter user broke down the word ‘puceau’ and explained that it has a negative connotation. While the term means ‘virgin,’ it is not used in a neutral sense but in a degrading way.
Additionally, other French ARMYs have also chimed in to say that while Caveriviere using the term, ‘virgin’ is ac complicated, he appeared to be insulting the South Korean group.
Besides that, the ARMY’s disappointment with Caveriviere comment comes after witnessing several racially-charged statements by both major and minor foreign publications.
