Kelly Rowland defends Chris Brown again

Kelly Rowland recently sat down in WeHo where she opened up about her American Music Awards moment.

Rowland stated that it’s beyond time for the public to forgive Chris Brown for allegedly beating Rihanna.

She claimed that everyone deserves second chances. Hence, we should treat Brown the same as anyone who makes mistakes.

Moreover, the Destiny’s Child member said that we all need a healthy dose of humility especially if we are stuck in the middle of our transgressions.

In addition, she said we should bask in the good of people rather than throw stones at them at every turn. She was most likely referring to the Chris Brown Rihanna incident that took place nearly fourteen years ago.

Besides that, Rowland concluded that everyone deserves an opportunity to start over again.

If you didn’t know, Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. Subsequently, many people have come forward to accuse him of assault since then.

Kelly Rowland quieted an unrest audience at the AMAs

Kelly Rowland took over the presenting duties at the American Music Awards this year. She was tasked to present the award for the Favorite Male R&B Artist.

However, when she announced Chris Brown as the winner, the audience seemingly started booing.

Despite being shocked over the reaction, Rowland went ahead to note that she will collect the win on Brown’s behalf considering his absence.

She started with, ‘Now Chris Brown is not here tonight so I’m accepting this award on his behalf.’

But the crowd continued to boo which prompted Rowland to stop her speech midway and fire back at them.

She said, ‘Excuse me… chill out,’ while holding a finger to the booing crowd.

Moreover, she added, ‘But I wanted to tell Chris, thank you so much for making great R&B music and I want to tell him to thank you for being an incredible performer. I’ll take this award — bring it to you. I love you. Congratulations. And congratulations to all the nominees in this category.’

Meanwhile, Brown was originally supposed to pay a tribute to Michael Jackson at the music ceremony on Sunday but was axed for an unknown reason at the last minute.
