Don Lemon is grateful to return on air on CNN. Moreover, he wants to work with the network for a long-time and is committed to not making any mistakes.

Here is everything you need to know.

Don Lemon apologizes again ahead of his return on the CNN show

Don Lemon returned to CNN show This Morning on 22nd February Wednesday nearly a week after he made headlines for his misogynistic remark against Nikki Haley.

Moreover, Lemon took to Twitter to post another apology for his comments shortly before the show went live.

He wrote, ‘I appreciate this opportunity to be back on CNN This Morning today.’

The 56-year-old co-anchor continued, ‘To my network, my colleagues, and our incredible audience, I’m sorry. I’ve heard you. I’m learning from you, and I’m committed to doing better. See you soon.’

Meanwhile, Lemon and his co-anchors went forward to discuss the day’s main news without bothering to address the controversy on Wednesday’s show.

Besides that, insiders revealed that Lemon met with the executives of the network during his ‘vacation’ to return to work and apologize for the sexist remark.

In addition, sources told TMZ that Lemon was not against the idea of also issuing an apology while on the show.

However, everyone on the network believed that he should directly report the recent news and move on from Lemon’s mishap.

According to the media outlet, an internal committee on the network was not organized to fire Lemon despite netizens calling for that.

TMZ mentioned that both CNN and Lemon are looking forward to continuing their working relationship.

Don Lemon faces backlash for sexist comment

Don Lemon found himself in hot waters after he suggested that a woman is in her prime during her 20s, 30s, and maybe her 40s.

Additionally, he was discussing Nikki Haley’s call for mental competency tests for politicians over 75.

Lemon was joined alongside his fellow hosts Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins during last Thursday’s show.

He said, ‘Nikki Haley isn’t in her prime, sorry.’

Subsequently, Lemon apologized for his ‘inartful and irrelevant’ comments on his social media handle after he was bashed online.

Chris Licht, CEO of CNN issued a memo to the staff on Tuesday to address Lemon’s return to the show.

Licht stated, ‘I sat down with Don and had a frank and meaningful conversation. He has agreed to participate in formal training, as well as continue to listen and learn. We take this situation very seriously.’
