Donald Trump recently faced criticism for giving Trump Water to the residents of East Palestine, Ohio following his visit on 22nd February Wednesday.

Here is everything you need to know.

Donald Trump gets blasted for handing out his brand of bottled water to East Palestine citizens

Donald Trump traveled to East Palestine to hawk his brand of bottled water ‘Trump Water’ to the residents.

Additionally, Trump’s visit comes after the lack of action from the White House to help the victims of a freight train derailment incident that took place on 3rd February.

Furthermore, the former US president tried to make political hay out of the accident that released hazardous toxins into the ground, air, and water.

Meanwhile, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has previously announced that the public water was not contaminated. It can be used for consumption. However, the locals in the town remained worried.

Hence, the 76-year-old businessman took the opportunity to donate around thirteen pallets of his branded water. He also distributed thousands of gallons of cleaning supplies along with canned food.

Besides that, many social media users noted that the brand was discontinued in 2010. Thus, they could not help but raise question relating to the quality of the water.

Meanwhile, Trump delivered a message to US president Joe Biden after prompts from the locals.

He said, ‘Get over here.’

Trump then addressed the locals by saying, ‘We stand with you… we pray for you. We’ll stay with you in your fight to help answer and [get] accountability that you deserve.’

Netizens mock Donald Trump for promoting his brand of bottled water

Many social media users were unimpressed after learning of Donald Trump’s visit to East Palestine.

Moreover, some users slammed him for boasting about his brand of water during his speech.

However, others suggested that the visit was just a publicity stunt ahead of the 2024 elections.

A user wrote, ‘Water and McDonald’s for your vote. Sounds like Trump is getting a good deal. Lmfao.’

Another user chimed in to say,  ‘I would love to have both the tap water there and Trump’s bottled water tested for contaminants and see which has more.’

Someone else pointed out, ‘Handing out Trump Water in East Palestine, Ohio – after creating the deregulation that likely caused this disaster – will not wash away Trump’s moral stain.’

A different user commented, ‘Trump says he brought “Trump water” for the residents of East Palestine, and also “much lesser quality water.”‘
