Jimmie Allen and Jennifer Lopez are the power couple we didn’t know we needed! The country music star took to Instagram to announce that he’ll be collaborating with JLo on a remix of her single “On My Way,” which will be released on Friday.

“@jlo X Jimmie Allen 5-27-2022 #tulipdrive,” Allen captioned the photo, which appeared to be the cover of the upcoming single.

Jimmie Allen is dressed in a black leather jacket with leopard print trim and his signature cowboy hat in the artwork, while Lopez is dressed head-to-toe in leopard. The title of the song, “On My Way,” appears beneath it, with the names of the artists appearing above it.

The collaboration represents a full circle moment for Allen, who rose to prominence after appearing on American Idol, where Lopez was a judge.

Jimmie Allen appeared on the show again as a mentor

Jimmie Allen spoke about his time on the long-running singing competition series and his advice to the season 20 contestants.

“You know what I mean. It’s a learning experience. Take advantage of this opportunity, “Allen stated. “You’ve been given this platform that millions of people are watching, and they made it to the top 24. So they actually made it to perform live, so it’s not really about impressing me, or even the judges. It’s about you gradually making fans with every performance you have. Getting to know you as a person in interviews, but getting to know you as an artist through your performance.”

His advice to singers who want to leave the show and achieve mainstream success like the “Down Home” singer? Have a plan.

Future plans and work for Jimmie Allen

Jimmie Allen told Taste of Country Nights host Evan Paul earlier this year that he had several projects in the works for this year. Although he didn’t specifically mention collaborations, it was a safe bet after “Freedom Was a Highway” featuring Brad Paisley topped the charts. Allen also mentioned that a few shows, books, and possibly even a WWE appearance were in the works.

Allen has already had a busy year in 2022, beginning with his appearance alongside Luke Bryan at Crash My Playa 2022. He also co-hosted the 55th Annual ACM Awards with Dolly Parton and Gabby Barrett, and he was a mentor on American Idol Season 20.

The “Make Me Want To” singer will perform a handful of shows this summer before joining Carrie Underwood on the road this fall. Allen will provide direct support for Underwood’s Denim & Rhinestones Tour, which begins on October 15 and runs until March 17, 2023.
