Known for her outspokenness, Cardi B commented on a video that surfaced online showing Dalai Lama making a young boy suck on his tongue. A video was captured during a public event where the boy asked for a hug from the 87-year-old spiritual leader and then made an unusual request. As shown in videos of the incident, a young boy asked the monk, “Can I hug you?” The 87-year-old Spiritual leader requested the boy come to the stage and kiss the monk on the cheek. By saying, “I think here, too,” he told the boy to kiss him on the lips. However, he ended by saying, And suck my tongue, keeping his tongue out.

Announcing her displeasure with the action on Monday, April 10, Cardi tweeted, This world is full of predators. Innocent people are preyed upon by them. Our children are the ones who are most unaware. A predator could be a neighbour, a teacher, a person with money, and power, or even a member of our church. You should always talk with your kids about boundaries and what people shouldn’t do to them. Some critics accused Cardi B of being the wrong messenger to call out the Dalai Lama after the Dalai Lama apologized for the controversial video, given her past admissions of drugging and robbing men while working as a stripper.

Despite not mentioning the spiritual leader, Cardi tweeted on April 10 that the world is full of predators. It is they who prey on the innocent. Our children are the ones who are most unaware. A predator could be a neighbour, a school teacher, or even someone with money, power, or a church. Don’t allow people to do anything to your kids without your permission. Talk to them constantly about boundaries. Offset and Cardi share two children, Kulture, 4, and Wave, 19 months, and Cardi then gave a glimpse into her home rules with a second tweet. During her tweet, she also explained how she believes the conversation with kids should go, stating that kids should be told from the time they start potty training not to let anyone touch their privates, not to come into the bathroom without mom and not to keep anything from her.

The following day, she shared a story about the Dalai Lama apologizing for his actions, which she captioned, Man, I’m telling you. After the Dalai Lama kissed a child on the lips in a controversial video, Cardi took to Twitter to comment. As seen in the video clip, a young boy asks the spiritual leader, Can I hug you? The Dalai Lama then brings the young boy on stage and hugs him and kisses him. A Dalai Lama then points to his lips and says, I think here, too, before pulling the boy’s chin and kissing him on the mouth, adding, And sucked my tongue too. A Dalai Lama apologized later for his actions. The Dalai Lama’s team wrote on Twitter that His Holiness regrets any hurt his words may have caused the boy and his family. A statement suggesting the Nobel Peace Prize winner may have jokingly joked with the boy concluded the statement. His Holiness is known for playfully and innocently teasing people he meets, even before cameras and in public. It was an unfortunate incident that he regrets.
