Megan Thee Stallion appeared to have a heated disagreement with NSYNC backstage as the ‘Savage’ singer prepared for her performance with Cardi B as MTV’s cameras shifted to her. The two artists performed their hit song ‘Bongos’ at the VMAs in New Jersey, wowing the audience. Back home, though, people were transfixed on Megan Thee Stallion, who looked to have some harsh things for NSYNC as they passed.

Backstage video shows her getting her hair done as the ’90s boyband walks by, with Justin Timberlake turning to talk to her. Instead of cheerfully responding, the ‘Sweetest Pie’ diva shook her long-nailed finger at them and did not appear particularly sweet. She appeared to be snapping at the boyband as they walked away, and she ultimately turned away, shaking her head. The video rapidly became popular on social media, with many people coming to X (previously Twitter) to share their comments. Neither party has addressed the incident in recent hours, though a Variety piece does provide some insight into what may have occurred. While it appeared like the two were arguing, a backstage source close to Variety said there was “zero fight.”

Megan Thee Stallion appeared to quarrel with Justin Timberlake, who hit the stage with his (reunited?) bandmates in NSYNC early in the night, either before or following her performance with Cardi B of their new single “Bongos,” according to a tape from MTV’s backstage live feed. Megan is seen getting ready backstage in a packed environment while members of NSYNC walk by. Timberlake moves in to say something to her, smiling. Megan answers by firmly pointing her finger, then turns away, enraged. Joey Fatone of the group then says something. Although the video appears to be a disagreement, a backstage insider who heard the discussion tells Variety that there was “zero fight.” “He said, ‘It’s nice to meet you,’ and she replied, ‘No, no, this doesn’t count, this doesn’t count.” We need to meet properly.’ “It was very cute,” recalls the insider. “Meg adores Justin,” a second eyewitness remarked.
“No, no, no, we have never met before,” she stated flatly. It was their first meeting, and she was ecstatic.” The video rapidly became popular on social media, with numerous individuals coming to X (previously Twitter) to share their comments. “I’m not sure what they were arguing about, but she’s right,” one bystander remarked.
