The Los Angeles Police Department will now bring the matter to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for consideration of pressing charges. Mayers has had a number of run-ins with the law throughout the years. He was detained in New York City in 2012 following a street altercation with photographers (he later pled guilty to attempted grand larceny), and he was charged in 2013 after reportedly slapping a fan at the Made in America Festival (while the case was dismissed, the victim later filed a civil suit against Mayers that was settled in 2015).
