Arianna Delane, George Floyd’s 4-year-old Niece Shot While Sleeping In Houston Home

Arianna, George Floyd’s niece, was shot while sleeping in her bed on Saturday by a gunman who fired shots into her house, officials said.
According to ABC13, Arianna Delane, the granddaughter of Floyd’s sister LaTonya Floyd, was shot while lying in bed. Two toddlers and four adults were among the five persons inside the residence at the time.
Despite emergency surgery, the girl’s condition is stable. She was shot in the torso, police reported. ABC 13 Houston reports that a bullet punctured her lung and liver in addition to breaking three ribs. She is Floyd’s niece, according to her family.
In the Houston apartment around 3 a.m., Arianna was with four adults and two kids when it was bombarded with bullets.
As police stated in a statement, they do not know whether one person fired the shots. Or maybe more than one person did. No suspects are in custody and police do not know what their motive might be.
Her bed was where she was sleeping when she was shot, according to ABC 13 Houston. When her family marched and rallied for justice for her uncle, she was often included.

It took paramedics up to four hours to arrive at her home after the shooting, her family told ABC 13. The incident is under investigation by police in Houston.
Police Chief Troy Finner says that they are aware and have concerns regarding the delayed response time in this incident and have initiated an Internal Affairs investigation.
Aside from praying for the child’s full recovery, he also requested the community provide information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect or suspects involved.
So far, police have not arrested any suspects.
George Floyd, Arianna’s great-uncle, was murdered in police custody in May 2020 while he was 46 years old.
His arrest and death were captured on video, and his video went viral, resulting in protests and unrest in cities across the country, and a debate about whether police were needed.
Derek Chauvin, a former Minneapolis police officer, received a 22 1/2 year prison sentence for murdering Floyd in April.
