John Horton Dies After He Was Accidentally Hit by His Brother’s Car

As per reports, the trooper of North Carolina State Highway Patrol John Horton accidentally hit his Cop brother and driver as he lost control of the vehicle. Let’s delve into the unfortunate incident.
The Cause Of The Accident In Rutherford County
On the evening of Monday Trooper James Horton was on his way to State Highway patrol to assist his brother by helping him respond to a traffic stop. James Horton lost control of the vehicle and collided with his brother’s car. His brother was standing along with driver Dusty Luke Beck of South Carolina on the roadside. The collision hit them severely causing them to die early.
John was a veteran cop for 15 years and his family includes his wife Ashley and six children. Driver Dusty Luke Beck (26) is also a father to three children. John is said to have pulled Beck for undisclosed reasons along with James who is also known as Nick. They were killed in Rutherford County as James hit John’s cruiser which crashed straight into James and driver Dusty Luke Beck on Monday evening.
Trooper John Horton and Beck were rushed to a local hospital. The hospital declared Beck dead at the arrival. John Horton took his last breath in the hospital before closing his eye permanently. James suffered minor injuries in the accident.
Investigation Reports
The cause of the accident is under investigation by the State Bureau of Investigation. According to sources, the State Highway Patrol stands in solidarity with John Troopers’ family and Beck. They have described Beck as full of life.
As said by Colonel Freddy L. Johnson Jr, commander of the state highway patrol, the hearts of their team broke due to the loss of a brother and a friend Trooper John Horton. Further, he said that the coming days after the event are going to be difficult without a doubt. They committed to standing alongside the deceased and their families sending their thoughts, prayers, and unwavering support.
Support From The Community
The community members felt shaken by the loss of friendly guy John Horton. Horton’s friend Tommy Baldwin said that the situation is upsetting for people who knew him as well as those who didn’t.
Meanwhile, Beck’s friend took it on social media to express his remorse. He said that Beck was full of life and a character he remembers since his university years. He was a loving father.
Their fundraisers are set for victims and their respective families on GoFundMe. Horton’s fundraiser has raised $15k and Beck’s funeral fundraiser has $1k within a day.
