Heard is currently making headlines for her contentious defamation trial with her former husband and actor Johnny Depp.
The wishes of the fans did not go completely unheard by the movie’s makers. Sources have confirmed that Heard’s screen time in DC’s film has been ‘drastically reduced’.

Amber Heard’s WME talent agent, Jessica Kovacevic testified in favor of Heard on Thursday’s trial. She claimed that Warner Bros. canned her from the upcoming film stating the reason to be Heard’s ‘lack of chemistry’ with Jason Momoa.
Kovacevic’s pre-recorded deposition, further mentioned that Aquaman’s studio might not want the 36-year-old actress for the bad publicity she gained amid her ongoing legal battle.

Earlier this week, Amber Heard talked about her upcoming film in the trial. The actress said that she was released from her Aquaman contract.
She continued, ‘I don’t know if I will even be in the final cut or how much I will be. It was difficult to stay in the movie.’
The Texas native added, ‘I was given a script and then given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it.’

She further claimed, ‘They basically took a bunch out of my role. They just removed a bunch.’
Heard alleged that her role has been cut down to ten minutes in Aquaman’s sequel.
The Never Back Down actress is cast opposite Jason Momoa in the DC’s Aquaman series. She played the role of water warrior Princess Mera in the first Aquaman which was released in 2018.
Moreover, she has further made an appearance in another DC movie called Zach Snyder’s Justice League.
It was revealed during the trial that Heard earned $1 million for Aquaman. She will reportedly pocket twice the amount for the sequel.
Loyal fans of Depp have also started a petition on the internet to drop Heard from the Aquaman franchise entirely. As of now, the petition has gotten over 4.2 million signatures
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will hit the theatre’s screens on 17th March 2023.
