Halsey took to TikTok to vent out her frustration with her record label Astralwerks/Capitol.
The star (who uses both ‘she/her’ and ‘they/them’ pronouns) mentioned that she cannot release new music unless she fakes a viral TikTok moment.

‘Basically, I have a song that I love that I want to release ASAP, but my record label won’t let me,’ the ‘I Am Not a Woman, I’m a God’ artist wrote the text over the TikTok video.
She overlayed further messages that said, ‘I’ve been in this industry for eight years and I’ve sold over 165 million records and my record company is saying I can’t release it unless they can fake a viral moment on TikTok.’

While some of Halsey’s fans were quick to shower concerns over the star following the clip, many TikTok users are having a hard time taking her word for it.
They think that Halsey Sunday’s post was itself the staged viral moment she was talking about in her video. They further slammed accusations at her for participating in the kinds of marketing she was condemning in her post.

In her TikTok video, the Grammy-nominated singer played a snippet of her unreleased song in the background. The official release date of her upcoming songs remains unclear.
The viral TikTok clip has already garnered more than 3 million views on the social media platform.
