The feud between 6ix9ine and Fivio began from a battle for the title of “King of New York.”

“APRIL 15th, the KING OF NEW YORK IS COMING BACK,” 6ix9ine wrote alongside a teaser promoting his new single on Instagram. “I’m returning home.”

On the same day, Fivio posted a tweet that seemed to cast doubt on 6ix9ine’s claim to the title.

“5 Billboards in Times Square, Top 5 tracks in NY on Apple at the same time, & articles in both the Daily News and the NY Times,” he tweeted. Never, ever, ever say the (N-word) that he is the King of this city.”

After DJ Akademics announced in a recent post that Fivio’s debut album B.I.B.L.E is expected to sell 29,000 album-equivalent units in its first week, the hostility between the two has only grown.

“This y’all king?” 6ix9nine remarked in the comments section shortly after. Not blackballed, all those features were promoted by the entire business, and now you Kanye and Nicki Minaj’s sidekicks even tried to help you promote.”
