3 min readThe ‘Candy Shop’ singer, 50 Cent, apologizes to Madonna after mocking her Instagram post of her in lingerie. 50 Cent took to Twitter to apologize for his comments. He also stated he had only said what he thought when he saw the picture.
50 Cent, is the singer of the infamous song “candy shop” and legally named Curtis Jackson apologized to Madonna on Thursday. He tweeted “I must have hurt Madonna feelings, she went and dug up an [sic] old MTV photo from 03”
He went on with the apology writing “Ok I’m sorry I did not intend to hurt your feelings. I don’t benefit from this in any way I said what I thought when I saw the picture because of where I had seen it before I hope you accept my apology.”
Why Did 50 Cent Apologize?
50 cent had mocked on a picture in which Madonna was posing with half of her body under a bed with her butt and legs showing. Madonna was wearing nothing but fishnet stockings, black Louboutin heels, and a black thong. Though Madonna looked stunning, according to 50 Cent she looked like Wicked Witch of the East’s legs under Dorothy’s house in The Wizard of Oz.
50 Cent posted a remade version of Madonna’s picture with the caption that said” That’s Madonna under the bed trying to do ‘Like A Virgin’ at 63. She shot out if she doesn’t get her old ass up.”
Even though 50 Cent was only joking around, the comment seemed to have hurt Madonna deeply. Madonna went on to respond to the comment on her Instagram story. It had a snap of Madonna and 50 Cent along with text that reads:
Here is 50 Cent pretending to be my friend. Now you have decided to talk smack about me. I guess your new career is getting attention by trying to humiliate others on social media. The least elevated choice you could make as an artist and an adult.
She ended the text saying “You’r [sic] just jealous you won’t look as good as me or have as much fun when you are my age”
Madonna’s Posts Takedown
Madonna posted her ‘iconic lingerie’ pictures on Instagram earlier this November. But Instagram took down the post due to nudity policy violation. It was due to a part of Madonna’s n*pple that was visible in the picture.
Madonna then reposted the same pictures on 25th November, this time with a heart emoji on her n*pples. She also went on to pen a long caption about censorship and sexualizing women’s bodies.
A Part of the caption said “I’m reposting photographs Instagram took down without warning or notification….. The reason they gave my management that does not handle my account was that a small portion of my n*pple was exposed. It is still astounding to me that we live in a culture that allows every inch of a woman’s body to be shown except a n*pple.”
