Netflix Viking series The Last Kingdom is a historical fiction set up in the United Kingdom. It is based on the novel series The Saxon Stories written by author Bernard Cornwell.
The British show has a whopper rating of 8.6 out of ten on IMDB. It has earned positive notices from both viewers and critics alike. The series came to end this year in March. But fans are wondering if there will be The Last Kingdom Season 6. Here’s everything we know so far about the sixth season of The Last Kingdom:

The historical drama series has unfortunately concluded with its fifth and final season on 9th March.
In the finale episode, we see Uhtred reclaiming his birthright as he was aiming for in the past five seasons.
However, just because Uhtred has finished his mission in the series doesn’t necessarily mean that there won’t be any more adventures.
Executive producer Nigel Marchant has confirmed that a feature film of The Last Kingdom is in the making. The film is titled Seven Kings Must Die and will serve as an epilogue to the completed plot of the series.
They have also revealed that the star hero, Alexander Dreymon will return to reprise his role as Uhtred in the upcoming film. The names of other cast members and characters that will feature in the film are under the wraps for now.
No official announcements about The Last Kingdom’s upcoming sequel movie have been made yet. Not so many players are ready to deposit a lot of money at a virtual casino and it is okay. The Last Kingdom Season 1 to Season 5 covered the first ten books in the series which left the remaining three books unadapted.
The feature-length special will be based on the last three books namely War of the Wolf, Sword of Kings, and War Lord. It will provide the aftermath of the series finale and will have a run time of two hours and thirty minutes.
