The British actress first appeared in the second season of the show as Kate Sharma. She was the love interest of Jonathan Bailey’s main character, Anthony Bridgerton. The first season, which focused on the romance between Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Duke Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page). But this season the pair’s love story became the key focus of the Netflix hit’s second season.
Simone Ashley, 27, announced she’ll be back in a new interview with Deadline. “We’ll be back for more! Kate and Anthony are just getting started in their relationship “She informed the news organization.
“In Season 3, we have the incredible Jess Brownell assuming the reins as showrunner,” she continued. “There was a lot of push and pull between Kate and Anthony in Season 2. And there were family difficulties!”. Simone Ashley stated that she would like to see Kate “just let go a little bit more and play more” in the upcoming season.
Ashley also indicated that as the next Viscountess, Kate will be in charge of the Bridgerton home. Promising a “more heart-strong” Kate Sharma.
All about the Bridgerton Season 2
Given how recent the previous season was, plot details for the third installment are still scant. Following Daphne and Anthony, the next main character among the other unwed Bridgerton siblings is yet unknown.
Bridgerton Season 2 is based on Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton novel, The Viscount Who Loved Me. It is the second in the series. The story revolves around the search for a suitable marriage for Anthony Bridgerton, the eldest Bridgerton sibling, who is played by Jonathan Bailey in the series.
Phoebe Dynevor, Golda Rosheuvel, Jonathan Bailey, Luke Newton, Claudia Jessie, Nicola Coughlan, Ruby Barker, Sabrina Bartlett, Ruth Gemmell, Adjoa Andoh, Polly Walker, Bessie Carter, and Harriet Cains are among the cast members of Bridgerton. Lady Whistledown’s voice is also being reprised by Julie Andrews. Shelley Conn, Calam Lynch, Charithra Chandran, Rupert Young, and Rupert Evans join them in the latest season.
Executive producer Shonda Rhimes commented in a Netflix press release at the time, “I knew these were stories that would attract a viewing audience from the first time. I read Julia Quinn’s exquisite Bridgerton series. This two-season renewal is a huge vote of confidence in our work. I’m grateful to have Netflix as a collaborative and creative partner. “
Rhimes, 52, recently disclosed that An Offer From a Gentleman, the third novel in Quinn’s Bridgerton series, which centers on Benedict Bridgerton’s (Luke Thompson) love story, isn’t definitely going to be the focus of the next season.
Scandal veteran Chris Van Dusen is adapting the series alongside Shonda Rhimes, who acts as showrunner and executive producer, and Betsy Beers of Shondaland.
