HBO Max has confirmed the release date of the long-awaited Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon, which will premiere on August 21, 2022.

After Game Of Thrones winning all possible hearts, its prequel series House Of The Dragon that’s all set to begin its journey. Well, the prequel drama has long been in talks to happen and Game Of Thrones audiences have high expectations with the same. But what can you expect from the prequel series and when is it slated to release?

Game Of Thrones had an iconic storyline to show its viewers until it wrapped up in the year 2019. However, after it, the next thing that was keenly awaited was the spin-off series of Game Of Thrones. Luckily, after a wait of sometime the prequel series has now been given a release date and everyone is excited about it.

Sky’s official Twitter handle broke out the release date news of House Of The Dragon alongside an appealing yet horrifying pic. The release date slated for the Game Of Thrones prequel is as such to happen on the 22nd of August this year.

Expected storyline of House Of The Dragon

The pic released on the Twitter page of Sky actually shows a reddish-golden egg behind which two fiery eyes are glaring. The poster certainly hints at some monster that’s probably the dragon of the series. However, being House Of The Dragon is a prequel series we are to have it set 200 years back than the time we had in Game Of Thrones.

The storyline of the series is to be set near Targaryen family and the war around Dance Of The Dragons. Moreover, the prequel will be having its own storyline much separated from the main series as has been confirmed by Matt Smith.

The cast of the House Of The Dragon

The spin-off series House Of The Dragon will have Emmy D’Arcy playing the role of princess Rhaenyra Targaryen who would be a dragon rider. Steve Toussaint to play Lord Corlys Velaryon, as the “Sea Snake”. There’s more cast to appear as well.

Moreover, the other casts appearing in the prequel drama are Milly Alcock, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Emily Carey, etc. Not to miss, Sky Atlantic is to have House Of The Dragon arriving on 22nd August and on NOW in the UK the same day. Also, HBO will have the prequel series releasing a day earlier on the network in the US.
