Hellbound Ending Explained and What To Expect From Season 2 Theories
3 min readThe latest Netflix series Hellbound has somehow managed to keep the viewers on the edge of their seats during all six episodes. The limited series which was released on 19 November has broken several records in a short span of time. Dethroning Squid Games, the show has already become the most-streamed series. In this article, we will discuss what to expect from Hellbound Season 2, theories, and everything you need to know.
What is Hellbound About?
As unsettling as it may be, the show directly aims at the religious cults of today’s time, God, the concept of heaven and hell, and how our “sins” decide for us.
The thriller starts when supernatural (huge monster-like) creatures appear in front of some people forecasting their death. These creatures then take those people to hell claiming that they’re Hellbound.
However, the plot does not revolve around these creatures and how they take people with them, it showcases how people react to this unnatural phenomenon.
The appearance of these creatures leads to the formation of a cult “New Truth Society” led by Jeong Jin Soo. This cult claims that all the “Demons” are directed by a divine presence and whoever receives a decree, has committed a sin against god.
The show takes an interesting turn when Bae Young-Jae and Song So-Hyun’s baby receives a decree. This dismantles the belief in New Truth because how can a baby be a sinner? People are left confused by the unimaginable series of twists and turns in the show while it ends on a massive cliffhanger. Here’s the ending explained for you.
Does So-hyun’s Baby Die In The End?
So-Hyun and Young-Jae’s baby, Toughie, does not die. However, in episode six, when the monsters arrive Young Jae and Min Hyejin fight the monsters to save the baby. So-hyun and Young Jae secure the baby between themselves to protect her, in this attempt they lost their lives. While baby Toughie survives.
Hyejin escapes with Toughie keeping her away from the New Truth’s reach. So-Hyun and Young Jae’s death raises several questions because they weren’t the ones to receive the decree.
Another major event that amazes people is Park Jugnja’s return during the finale. Even after being killed by demonic creatures, her body returns to life.
Hellbound Season 2 Theories-
The season ends on a major cliffhanger as it is not revealed why Jugnja comes back. However, this could mean that people don’t go to hell. Then where do they go? And can they return from there? And if yes, will Chairman Jeong also return in the upcoming season? All these questions have created quite the hype for the next season.
