Bruce Greenwood will replace Frank Langella in a recasting after the streamer sacked the Oscar-nominated actor earlier this month. Langella was the subject of an investigation, which revealed that he had engaged in unprofessional behavior on site.

“Star Trek” star Bruce Greenwood will now play Roderick Usher, the patriarch of the Usher family.

The streamer fired Frank Langella, 84, after sexual misconduct charges surfaced. After allegedly making inappropriate comments to a female co-star, the Oscar contender (“Frost/Nixon”) departed the show halfway through filming.

Frank Langella’s scenes will be reshot by Greenwood

The aim is to reshoot the parts already filmed by Frank Langella with Bruce Greenwood. He will shoot in the role of Roderick Usher in Netflix’s eight-episode limited series from Mike Flanagan. It is based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe.

Mark Hamill, Carla Gugino, Mary McDonnell, Carl Lumbly, Henry Thomas, Samantha Sloyan, Zach Gilford, Katie Parker, Michael Trucco, Robert Longstreet, and Annabeth Gish are among the cast members of the eight-episode miniseries based on the works of horror master Edgar Allan Poe.

It’s been described as a “grand saga of greed, horror, and tragedy.” The show is based on Edgar Allan Poe’s short story The Fall of the House of Usher, which deals with themes of lunacy, family, solitude, and identity.

Roderick Usher is the Usher dynasty’s imposing patriarch.

Mike Flanagan, together with his Intrepid Pictures partner Trevor Macy, Emmy Grinwis, and Michael Fimognari, executive produce the series, which he created. Melinda Nishioka of Intrepid Pictures is a co-executive producer on the film. Each episode is directed by Flanagan and Michael Fimognari.

Mike Flanagan announced the news on Twitter

“I’m ecstatic to welcome my close buddy, the brilliant Bruce Greenwood, as the immortal Roderick Usher to ‘The Fall of the House of Usher,'” creator Mike Flanagan wrote on Twitter today.

“This will be our fourth collaboration (since sure, the background ghost cameo in ‘Hill House’ counts),” the director wrote. Previously, the two collaborated on the horror flicks “Doctor Sleep” and “Gerald’s Game.”
