Paul McCartney returns: Duets With John Lennon, Honors George Harrison at Joyous Tour Kickoff
2 min readWith a little help from his pal, director Peter Jackson, Paul McCartney brought John Lennon back from the dead. On Thursday evening, the 79-year-old rock legend performed the opening gig of his “Get Back” tour at the Spokane Arena. And he was joined by a very special guest for a duet on the song. “I’ve Got A Feeling.” Jackson’s Disney+ documentary “The Beatles: Get Back” featured footage of John Lennon, who died in 1980 at the age of 40, on a giant screen while the British musician sang.
Paul McCartney addressed the crowd with what?
To kick off the new tour, the two sang beside each other. “One day, Peter Jackson, the director of the film ‘Get Back,’ texts me. ‘We can extract John Lennon’s voice,’ he replies. After the song, Paul McCartney addressed the surging crowd, “He can sing with you live.” “Getting Better,” “You Never Give Me Your Money,” and “She Came in Through the Bathroom Window” were among his other classic songs. The concert was John Lennon’s first since the coronavirus outbreak started two years ago. “They told us to return, and we did.” He also added, “It feels cool.” “You’ll have to give me a moment alone simply to take it all in.”

The trip is scheduled to last until June, and he will be in Seattle and Oakland, California, in the coming days. Before embarking on his current tour, the father of five made a passionate plea to Starbucks, requesting that they no longer charge an additional fee for plant-based kinds of milk. In an open letter he wrote to the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals last month, he called out the costly coffee chain’s CEO Kevin Johnson.
In the memo, which was first published, he stated, “My pals at PETA are fighting for this.” “I genuinely hope that you are able to adopt this policy for the sake of the planet’s future and animal welfare.” “It just came to my knowledge that Starbucks in the United States has an extra price for plant-based milk than cow’s milk,” he continued. “I must admit, this astonished me,” he continued, noting that weird milk replacements are not charged at Starbucks locations in his own country of the United Kingdom. “I respectfully request that you examine this policy in Starbucks USA as well.”
