4 min readTom Brady, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has finally announced his retirement from football. On Tuesday he will be retiring from football and will focus on other things. As per sources, he has been into an NFL career for about 22 seasons. This news has been made public on Saturday as the 44-year-old footballer posted it on Instagram.
It took 72 hours of speculation after his lengthy Instagram post was released. The post says that the winner of seven Super Bowls would hang up his football career soon.

Tom Brady Leaving NFL
Tom Brady has talked about the brutal physical toll and total determination it requires for playing football professionally. He wrote in his Instagram post, “this is difficult for me to write, but here it goes: I am not going to make that competitive commitment anymore. I have loved my NFL career, and now it is time to focus my time and energy and other things that require my attention.”
The report says, “Tom Brady just completed his second campaign with the Buccaneers, as the defending Super Bowl champions fell to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC semifinals.”
After Tom Brady played his last football match, speculation ran rampant over the unknown future of Brady. No one knows whether he would ever return to Tampa Bay for the 2022 season or not.
Till Monday it was not confirmed officially that Tom Brady was hanging it up. On the XM Podcast, Tom Brady said, “I think when the time is right, I will be ready to make a decision one way or the other. Let’s go!”
Brady confirmed his retirement news on Tuesday morning. He made his official statement by saying, “I have done a lot of reflecting in the past week and have asked myself difficult questions. And I am so proud of what we have achieved.”

Tom Brady thanked everyone within his close circle who have always supported him including family, coaches, and teammates. He also shouted out to the Bucs owners- the Glazer family, Tampa Bay general manager Jason Licht, Bucs coach Bruce Arians, personal trainer Alex Guerrero, agents Don Yee and Steve Dubin, wife Gisele Bundchen and his children Jack, Benny, and Vivi.

He talked about his wife’s desire for him to leave his football career and every time she suffered emotionally when he hit on the Gridiron. Tom Brady said, “her selflessness allowed me to reach new heights professionally, and I’m beyond words what you mean to me and our family.” He also said a sentence in his native language i.e., Portuguese, Te amo amor da minha vida” that means “ I love you, love of my life” in English.

Sports Career of Tom Brady
Tom Brady played two seasons in Tampa and approx 2 decades in Foxborough, Massachusetts. He did not mention the New England Patriots and coach Bill Belichick in his long retirement post, on Tuesday.
Under coach Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and the Pats have won Super Bowl titles in 2002, 2004, 2005, 2015, 2017, and 2019 respectively.
He left the football world in shock after he chose Tampa Bay over New England, in Spring 2020.

He wrote, “playing career has been such a thrilling ride, and far beyond my imagination, and full of ups and downs. When you are in it every day, you really don’t think about any kind of ending.” He added, “As I sit here now, however, I think of all the great players and coaches I was privileged to play with and against- the competition was fierce and deep.”
The report says, Tom Brady is leaving his sports career with more yards passing (84,520) and touchdowns throws (624) which is considered to be the greatest quarterback in NFL history. He’s also leaving behind his unprecedented legacy of winning.
