LeBron James surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to claim the title for most points scored

LeBron James stole Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record that he set 34 years ago to become NBA’s all-time leading points scorer.

It came after James’ incredible performance against the Oklahoma City Thunder in Los Angeles.

Moreover, James needed 36 more points to overtake Abdul-Jabbar’s record of 38,387 during his game against Oklahoma.

However, he managed to claim the record within 10.9 seconds remaining in the third quarter. Hence, James finished with thirty-eight points, seven rebounds, and three assists.

In addition, James was instantly mobbed by his teammates after he scored the record-breaking shot.

The 38-year-old professional basketball player’s wife Savannah and sons Bronny and Bryce were also present in the stadium to witness the stunning moment.

Additionally, the game between the Lakers and Oklahoma was stopped for quite a while to celebrate James’ latest achievement.

Meanwhile, NBA commissioner Adam Silver grabbed a microphone while social media ran wild to pay tribute to James.

Abdul-Jabbar on the other hand gifted the ceremonial basketball to James.

James tearfully addressed the Los Angeles crowd following the end of the match.

He said, ‘Just want to say thank you to the Laker faithful, you guys are one of a kind.’

James continued, ‘Everybody that’s ever been a part of this run for the last 20 years, I just want to say thank you. … F**k man… thank you, guys!’
