Zoë Kravitz is reflecting on her comments about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars in 2022.

Here is everything you need to know.

Zoë Kravitz addresses her remarks over Will Smith’s Oscars slap

Zoë Kravitz recently sat down with the WSJ magazine where she discussed the posts she shared on her Instagram referring to Will Smith’s infamous slap.

For the unversed, Smith faced massive outrage for slapping presenter Chris Rock during the live broadcast of the Academy Awards.

Smith reportedly reacted after Rock made a joke at the expense of his wife’s Jada Pinkett Smith bald head.

Regardless, The Batman actress told the publication, ‘It’s a scary time to have an opinion or to say the wrong thing or to make controversial art or statements or thoughts or anything.’

She added, ‘It’s mostly scary because art is about the conversation. That should, in my opinion, always be the point. The internet is the opposite of conversation. The internet is people putting things out and not taking anything in.’

Moreover, Kravitz continued, ‘I was reminded that I’m an artist. Being an artist is not about everybody loving you or everyone thinking you’re hot. It’s about expressing something that will hopefully spark a conversation or inspire people or make them feel seen.’

She further mentioned, ‘I think I’m in a place right now where I don’t want to express myself through a caption or a tweet. I want to express myself through art.’

What did Zoë Kravitz post?

Zoë Kravitz shared a couple of pictures on her Instagram following Will Smith’s controversial action.

In one of the images, Kravitz appears to be posing on a red carpet.

However, she outlined the post with a caption that read, ‘we are apparently assaulting people on stage now.’

Shortly after, Kravitz went on to upload another picture of herself at the star-studded event.

Consequently, she wrote a similar message this time as well.

Kravitz said, ‘we are apparently screaming profanities and assaulting people on stage now.’

Meanwhile, the Man In Black actor has also recently come forward to apologize to the Academy and Chris Rock.

According to a source, the 53-year-old star is also in a good place right now. He is spending time with his wife Jada Pinkett Smith and their children.

Nevertheless, Smith is banned from attending the Academy events for 10 years. He had previously resigned from the awards following his outburst at Rock.
