A video of Ariana Grande being ‘sexualized’ during her time as a child actor on Nickelodeon resurfaces. The network is facing backlash on the internet.

Video proves that Ariana Grande was ‘sexualized’ as a teen on Nickelodeon
Skarlett Akira first shared the footage on her YouTube channel. It claimed that a young Ariana Grande was ‘sexualized’ on a Nickelodeon show.
The snippets included Grande sucking her toe and suggestively squeezing a potato. At one in the clip she poured water over her chest while saying, ‘Mmm, I’m thirsty’.
The 29-year-old chart-topping pop superstar starred as Cat Valentine in Nickelodeon’s series from 2010 to 2013. She was 16 to 19 years old during that time.
The video was filmed for a segment on the show known as Cat’s Random Thoughts. Grande’s character used to talk about her thoughts on random topics for the portion.
Reportedly, the scenes were written and directed by TV producer Dan Schneider.
The video comes after Grande’s co-star and teen actor, Jennette McCurdy wrote about the abuse she suffered while she was also a Nickelodeon star.
McCurdy recently published her new memoir, I’m Glad My Mom Died, where she opens up about her experience during her time as a child actor.
She claimed that she was filmed while she was wearing a bikini and was given unwanted massages on the set.
Fans react to the clip
Unsurprisingly, fans called out to Nickelodeon and creator Dan Schneider over a teen Ariana Grande being ‘sexualized’ while she was working for them.
Fans took to social media to express their shock with many revealing that they were uncontrollable from just watching the montage.
One person shared, ‘This is absolutely disgusting. As an adult watching this right now you can tell EXACTLY what they were doing. I hope she speaks on it, people will definitely support her. But understand exactly why she doesn’t know how they treat people who do.’

Moreover, one user pointed out, ‘It’s insane they got away with this.’
Meanwhile, another user responded with, ‘How did any rational adult sit there and let this be filmed?’
