On Sunday, Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene attracted five strikes against Twitter’s rules on Covid-19 disinformation. Twitter banned her account permanently due to repeated violations. Marjorie Taylor Greene stated that Twitter is an enemy to America and can not handle the truth. She added that it is fine but, she will show America that We don’t need them and this is the time to defeat their enemies. Twitter user comes in front and trolls her with joy on getting suspended by Twitter. They created a hashtag- #ByeMorjorie to celebrate US Rep’s account blowing.

The incident happened at a news conference; in her office at Longworth House Office Building. In the new year, on January 2 Twitter; suspends Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene’s personal account permanently. The official account of Marjorie is still working with username- @RepMTG. She rarely handles this account.

It is not the first time that her account got in trouble. Marjorie joins the group of many high-profile personalities whose accounts are banned by Twitter. Activist Laura Loomer, Author Naomi Wolf, and former US President Donald Trump were the personalities that banned; from Twitter.

After getting suspended from the microblogging and social media platform, Greene said that Social Media Platforms can not stop the truth from being spread far and wide. Big tech and Communist Democrats can not stop the truth. This statement was by using Telegram.

Why Twitter Suspended Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Personal Account Permanently? 

Marjorie Taylor Greene, 47-year-old, famous as MTG is an American politician and businesswoman. Her personal account on Twitter with username- @mtgreene supports wild conspiracy theories. Twitter has suspended her personal account a number of times in the past.

Previously in 2020, in July she said that Covid-19 is not dangerous, but before this, in January she stated about vote fraud days. Also in August, her account was suspended for stating that vaccines were failing to stop Covid-19 and should be disapproved. This is the fifth time but it’s permanently now that her account; is on ban. In July, she got a 12-hour suspension, in August it was for a week that her account; was banned. There was a thread of misleading tweets by the U.S. representative; that, took the attention of the Twitter team quickly.

What Did Twitter Say?

Twitter announced that we have permanently suspended the @mtgreene for repeated violation of our Covid-19 misinformation policy. It added that we have been clear that as per our strike system for this policy, we will permanently suspend an account for repeatedly violating our policy. As per Twitter’s Covid-19 misleading information policy, the tweets that violate those rules should do:

  • Advance claims as facts
  • Be knowingly misleading or inaccurately giving existing information available
  • Have the potential to cause harm

Under policy by Twitter, it will ban users from sharing posts that are misleading about covid-19 obviously. It includes the misinformation about the risk of infection or death from covid-19, official regulations, and safety preventive measures. After five or more strikes, the Twitter users get suspension permanently for violating these rules.

Twitter Users Creates #ByeMarjorie

Many Twitter users burst in joy and create #ByeMarjorie that becomes trending. One Twitter user; stated that, okay, I have a feeling of 2022 is going to be our year. Another mocked that It may be a Happy New Year after all and used the hashtag. Tara Dublin, the journalist; also mocked, and said, as far as I am concerned, that screenshot is High Art. In a similar manner, one user said Twitter is greater; than Congress. Another user thanked Twitter for banning her and protecting the US; from misinformation.
