A new viral TikTok challenge has landed a 12-year-old boy in the hospital with severe burns. The TikTok challenge was based on Whoosh Bottle Experiment.
The young user tried the viral challenge by his participation in it. While performing the challenge, things quickly turned. The flames engulfed the 12-year-old boy causing severe injuries to him.

What is Whoosh Bottle Experiment?
This scientific experiment is designed for the demonstration of energy released from a mixture of alcohol and air in the form of combustion. The required material to experiment is alcohol, a five-gallon water bottle with a narrow neck along a fire source.
The procedure follows as s small amount of alcohol is poured into the bottle. After shutting the bottle, it is shaken vigorously. High-speed combustion comes as a result when burning flint is introduced to the open narrow cavity of the bottle.
The experiment is named as Whoosh Bottle Experiment as the combustion makes a loud whoosh sound.
The experiment has been a standard part of lab alcohol density demonstration. Also, this experiment needs to be done with necessary safety measures.
A Young User Got Injured While Performing the Experiment
Recently, the Whoosh Bottle Experiment is popular as well as viral on the Tiktok. Because of the experiment, a young boy has been seriously injured while performing the challenge. Initially, the victim was taken to Yale Children’s Hospital.
However, specialized care is required for the seriousness of the burns. Hence, due to serious burns, the victim was shifted to Bridgeport Hospital Burn Center in Connecticut.
The TikTok officials are being questioned by the authorities now. They are being asked why such challenges are getting viral on the app.
TikTok has given a statement that has time and again promised the harmful content removal from the app. They told in their statement, “ We understand that this school science experiment can be done safely with proper precautions, but videos without visible safety measures will be removed from our platform. We also work to add caution labels to videos performed in a controlled setting. Though they are ineligible for recommendation into people’s For You feeds.”
Meanwhile, the parents are being advised by the East Haven Fire Department to speak to their children. The parents are advised to make their children aware. The children to not perform Whoosh Bottle Experiment and underscore the dangers that are hazardous for life.
